NECK

Below are some diagrams that outline some of the anatomy of the neck (cervix).

This is a picture of a model of the bones of the neck looking from the right hand side. At the top is the back of the skull, the occiput. The front of the neck is on the right of the picture.

 

This is a picture of the same model taken from behind looking forward. What can be seen are the back of the bones of the cervical spine.

LOW BACK (LUMBAR)

These are diagrams that outline some of the anatomy of the lower back (lumbar spine).

 

Above is a picture of a model of the lumbar spine taken as though looking from behind.

The numbers (L1, L2 etc) indicate the number of the vertebra.

Above is a picture of the lumbar spine taken from the right side.The disc is clearly seen at the front of the spine with the facet joints at the back.

SACROILLIAC JOINT & PIRIFORMIS
